Which self-image do you want?

God of the Machine responds to A Fool in the Forest's concern and to someone who suggests that Jargon Builds Walls Not Bridges and gets to the bottom-line very nicely: "To Blog, or To Web Journalize?"

I responded some months ago to Terry Teachout's concern on this very question by asking Dost thou blog? In short:

"The very dorkiness of the word blog is its prime advantage; it acts to discourage pretension."

I still think that is the "right" Q & A.
