Building a detached ADU isn’t necessarily different than building a house. accessorydwellings.org
And actually, quite important.
It's a new site and I wish it well. I'll be reading.

Many years ago I approached an editor at Sunset and suggested some article about ADUs. She snorted (though kindly) and told me that Sunset management would never allow anything but single-family houses. I suspect that times have changed big time.
Ah, but given that Sunset caters to the upper edge of the Upper Middle Class...I imagine the snobbery will still be in place LOL.

Easy to determine: read Sunset.
I haven't in years on any sort of regular basis but I still like it when I run into a copy.

Funny reply from the Sunset editor... They actually did do a full story about an ADU a few years back that my company built. Here's a link: http://www.penparkcommons.org/Sunset.pdf

Uh...I wonder if 2008 counts for "Many years ago..."

ADUs are quite ingenious and improving with time, it would have been Sunset’s loss if they didn’t publish a story about them eventually.

I agree to this that can be a quite lost if they don't do it.I remember in Finland many of real estate really doing everything for the sake of their business in fact this year single family house are one of the best seller in part of Helsinki which is really awesome.
